How can Christians respond to issues of sex, gender and identity with compassion,
without compromising their Biblical convictions?

This presentation will give an overview of three perspectives on sex and gender –
medical, social, and Biblical; proposing that a model of gender identity informed by
all three will truly lead to holistic personal and social well-being.

"Patricia Weerakoon: Sexologist, Author and Speaker"

Patricia Weerakoon is a Sexologist, sex educator and writer. She trained in medicine at the
University of Sri Lanka and did her postgraduate study in sexology at the University of Hawaii. She
worked for 22 years as an academic in the area of sexual health at the University of Sydney.

As an Evangelical Christian, all of Patricia’s work flows from a Biblical, Christ-centred worldview.
She has spent many years developing a framework of Biblically informed seminars and lectures in
healthy human sexuality. Her presentations challenge the listener to reflect on how they could
better live their whole lives including their gender identity and sexuality to God’s glory.
