Mid-North Coast FIEC Seniors' Conference

Last year the Point Community Church in Port Macquarie hosted the Mid-North Coast FIEC Seniors’ Retreat. This year, the Point Community Church is delighted to be hosting a conference for Seniors from FIEC churches on the mid-north coast from 15-17 October 2024 at Rydges,1 Hay Street, Port Macquarie on the beautiful Hastings River.

The theme for the conference is Christ in you - the Hope of Glory as we look at Paul's letter to the Colossians. We'll also have lots of time to relax and enjoy good food, good music and good company.

Who are our speakers?

Our speakers, Jim and Lesley Ramsay grew up in the suburbs of Sydney and have been married for over 50 years. All four of their children are married. They have 12 grandchildren.

Jim is a ‘59er in that he became a follower of Jesus at the 1959 Billy Graham Crusade. He and Lesley have pastored churches in Bexley, Liverpool, Engadine and now serving as members in EV Erina.

As with last year's retreat, we can expect excellent and engaging Bible talks.

How will the conference be different from the retreat?

Music

We’ll be singing with a live band with Michael and Ann Robinson as our guest musos.

Michael and Ann Robinson have been married for almost 50 years. They have four adult children, and nine grandchildren ranging from University to Kindergarten. They have served in parishes all over Sydney – Manly, Dapto, Kingsgrove, Castle Hill and Blacktown.

Michael worked with Anglican Television for six years, producing Christian TV programs for the commercial networks all over Australia. Ann was music director for the morning service at Blacktown, and regularly roped Michael in to play and lead singing on Sunday mornings. They currently serve in music ministry (amongst other things) at Emmanuel Church Glenhaven.

Conference Dinner

We will also be having a conference dinner with a guest speaker, Steve Covetz, the Lead Pastor of the Point.

Steve is married to Nicole and they have four wonderful children, one of whom is now married...so make that five!

"It is a great joy to be a pastor at The Point. How wonderful to still be saying that after 18 years! What a blessing to see all that God is doing. Through the joys and the sorrows. I am looking forward to being with our older saints at this year's conference. You teach me much about endurance and patience with joy (Colossians 1:11)".
